CoPilot? ChatGPT? What are they to a Wi-Fi Engineer?
Your Personal Helper is Here & “The next 30 years will dictate the next 300 years.” Salim Ishmail
I will first explain how I’ve used and been successful using these AI tools, and then show some examples of CoPilot.
Python Code Help - Meraki:
I used ChatGPT to create essential Python code for working with my Meraki installations. Out of the box, there are many business reports that are not included. I needed a report that would pull the entire deployed inventory of an organization (otherwise, a person would need to go network by network, pulling spreadsheets and correlating all data). I have published all of my code at: jadexing/Merakicode: Code for Meraki Wi-Fi.
Quick Documentation Help and Search Help:
Recently, I was quickly able to access technical information from Mist to get started with APIs. I could ask CoPilot quick and simple questions without digging through documentation.
This was a great, fast search for youtube material (below).
Image Help:
There are many great programs that specialize in various aspects of AI. My Microsoft Office license allowed me to query DALL-E 3 for some images. Although I prefer to take pictures for my blog, having a nice, on-topic AI picture is pretty cool, and I didn’t need to pay for a separate program.
Asking Why:
A little story here: When I was little, my father knew about geology. He would explain things to me. Even after losing him right after my teens, I understood that not everyone knew about rocks. I’ve missed the quick and succinct information he would share without reading long articles. Now, you can ask CoPilot and ChatGPT. And if it’s over your head, you can ask the response to come back as if you were “explaining to a child.”
Helpful Task Lists:
Ask it for a 15-minute arm workout.
Ask it for a recipe and a shopping list
Ask it for a birthday greeting from a co-worker to another in the voice of a cyborg, pirate or Jesus.
Proof of Your Work:
I placed this in CoPilot, and it became a better read.
New Innovations and Ties Will Be Coming:
Below, I asked Copilot to tell me the reasons to use Copilot and place it into a PowerPoint for me. It can’t yet, but it’s coming.
I asked both Copilot and ChatGPT to create a graph of the adoption and use of the tool over the past 5 years. This can be done with alternative AI tools.
Here are a couple of links to my recent favorite AI videos (yes, totally worth a watch):
The first video describes specialized AI tools.
The second video discusses various topics related to technology.
